Education Programs:
Golden Gate Community Center offers educational programs for all ages.

English as a Second Language
(ESL) classes begin every three months and classes run for
12 weeks. Morning, afternoon and evening classes are available.
ESL classes require a $50 registration fee plus the cost of materials.

The Reading Club provides
the opportunity to ESL students to practice and learn new vocabulary and have better skills to read to their children. The goal of the reading club is to provide an extra class for ESL students, participate as a volunteer in Head Start Classrooms and learn how to read in their own family. Citizenship Classes are available to those living
in Arizona as legal aliens. Classes take place on Saturdays for
six weeks and require at $20 registration fee. Students will study
from the INS guide, and will be provided with the tools for understanding

Computer Classes at Golden Gate teach students
computer basics as well as how to use many popular programs including
Microsoft Word, Excel, Publisher, PowerPoint and the Internet. Morning,
afternoon and evening classes are available, and the registration

Pathways to Success is a unique program funded
by the Arthur M. Blank Foundation to help targeted, low-income students
graduate from high school, enroll in post-secondary education and
graduate from post-secondary education. Golden Gate is joined
by Carl Hayden Community High School, Maricopa Community Colleges
Foundation and Chicanos por la Causa in this unique endeavor. Golden
Gate is providing a College Parent Academy to educate parents about
post-secondary educational opportunities, scholarships and admissions
requirements, as well as ESL classes for parents and guardians of
Carl Hayden Community High School students. For more information
